Karen Mooney is the Associate Vice President of Research and Administrative Facilities management department at the University of Texas MD Anderson Center in Houston, Texas. Her facilities staff manages six million square feet of research labs, vivariums, data centers, and administrative properties in the Texas Medical Center as well as campuses at Bastrop and Smithville.
Karen graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Management and received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. Karen is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, a Professional Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation and a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association (NSA). She has been a keynote speaker at various women leadership and facilities management events. While at MD Anderson she was awarded “Best Boss” (2010) and has been a two-time finalist for the institutional mentoring award.
